You step into the bar; it’s different in the day time. The familiar smell of smoke and ash fills the air. The dented and dimly lit jukebox weakly chimes out a tune: it’s Silver Springs. You recognize not much has changed since you were here just a few hours before, under the cover of night and the gaze of the full moon. You can still taste the bite of whiskey and the subtle sugar-free sweetness of Diet Coke on your tongue. The barkeep recognizes you, silently hands you your card, and you continue on your way. You both know you’ll be back again before too long.
