Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative leader to work closely with the General Manager and Management Team to ensure the seamless operation of COVA Brewing. This role is instrumental in fostering a positive work environment that prioritizes employee development and exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will be committed to continuously improving all aspects of COVA’s operations, consistently evaluating processes to enhance productivity, efficiency, customer satisfaction, and team training.
Relevant Experience
- Leadership experience and a proven track record for managing projects with a team.
- At least 2 years in the hospitality, restaurant, brewery, or coffee house industries.
- A proven track record of hitting goals, anticipatory management skills, strong communication skills, and an ability to work under pressure and with a variety of personalities.

Leadership & Teamwork
- Participate in leadership coaching, apply development exercises, and utilize leadership tools for effective communication and team guidance.
- Lead quarterly shift lead meetings, team development meetings, and training sessions,
Collaborate with the management team and shift leaders on training, operations, and event coordination/execution. - Prepare and lead weekly HR and operations meetings. Attend production and management meetings.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment through empathetic leadership.
- Support cross-functional initiatives and assist with additional duties as needed.
Training & Development
- Keep team members informed on updates, operational changes, and new product releases while ensuring accountability.
- Train new employees, manage training progress, and provide ongoing support to maintain high standards.
- Facilitate product tastings and promote enthusiasm for coffee and beer knowledge.
Operations
- Ensure an exceptional customer experience by fostering engagement and situational awareness among staff.
- Continuously evaluate and anticipate operational adjustments to improve workflow.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and adherence to health and safety guidelines. - Supervise daily, weekly, and monthly deep cleaning efforts.
- Maintain and organize inventory for all front and back stock items.
- Troubleshoot and manage customer-facing systems.
- Research and develop new recipes to expand beverage offerings.
- Create workflows and documentation for new product releases.
Administration
- Manage employee scheduling, adjustments, and approvals.
- Organize invoices, records, and reports.
Coordinate orders, deliveries, and invoice validation with vendors. - Track and analyze costs to inform pricing, reduce waste, and improve operations.
- Keep training and operational documentation updated and organized.

Experience/Qualifications
- No experience necessary, but preferred
- Must take a course and pass a test as a certified Food Handler and Alcohol Server
Core Responsibilities
- Create a welcoming environment
- Be a strong advocate for the COVA brand, both in-house and outside the building
- Become proficient as a Barista and as a Tap Ambassador
- Work efficiently in a team and independently
- Follow alcohol awareness procedures for preventing intoxication and dealing with intoxicated guests -Maintain a clean working space
- Comply with health and safety regulations
- Maintain consistent attendance when scheduled and be punctual
Skills
- Excellent customer service (listening and verbal communication skills) -Ability to work in a team environment
Tasks
- Work at the coffee bar as well as at the tap wall
- Take customer orders and collect payment
- Make exceptional drinks using the espresso machine
- Assemble and serve food and drink in accordance to COVA’s recipe and presentation guidelines -Restock supplies
- Explain beer styles and serving basics to customers
- Explain the Pour My Beer system and help customers navigate along the tap wall
- Suggest menu items and beer styles customers might enjoy
Additional Requirements
- Able to stand 100% of your shift (4-8hrs) -Able to lift 25-50lbs
- Exposure to cold and heat
- Must work weekends
Compensation:
- Starting pay: $8.50 hour plus tips. (Pay rate increases based on merit)

Responsibilities
- Keep COVA customer space clean and organized
- Wipe tables of debris (crumbs, glass rings, trash, etc) & straighten napkins & centerpieces
- Straighten stools
- Spot Sweep for trash/crumbs
- Wipe up spills
- Collect any unattended cups, dishes, silverware & load into the dishwasher
- Clear dishes from busser bins & load into the dishwasher
- Restock dried dishes under tap wall or behind coffee bar
- Sanitize COVA cards
- Check the inside trash & recycling: coffee bar trash, coffee bar recycling, cafe trash, production area trash, production area recycling.
- Replace trash bag & take out trash.
- Wipe off trash station (inside & opening)
- Fill bowls of water for dogs
- Keep bathrooms clean:
Replace toilet paper and paper towels. 2 rolls in each stall
Clean toilet seats/urinals
Wipe Mirrors
Wipe inside and around sink
Sweep pieces of toilet paper or paper towel
Push down or take out trash - Straighten & restock merchandise cabinet
- Sell merchandise at the merchandise tent
- Set up tent and aesthetically display items
- Pull merchandise for customers
- Ring up customers
Additional Requirements
- Able to stand 100% of your shift (4-8hrs)
- Able to lift 25-55lbs
- Exposure to cold and heat
Hours
- Ranging from 4-20 hours per week
- 4-8 hour shifts
- Midday and closing shifts ranging from 10am-10:30pm
